1. How can I get a free quote for my product?

On the "NEC ReTrade" website you will find the button labelled "Get a Quote" in the top navigation bar. This takes you directly to the "sale" page. Simply follow the instructions on this page to receive a free instant quote.

2. Who can use the "NEC ReTrade" program?

Anyone who during the last three months bought an NEC projector and wants to protect nature’s resources by selling his old projector. Private, public and business vendors are welcome.

3. What are the key benefits of selling my projector?

If you simply throw your old projector away or bring it to a regular recycling yard, resources will be wasted. To us, recycling means more that downcycling. We give projectors a second life. After testing, cleaning and repairing, we will use them, at the very least, as a source for spare parts.

This means that you can get back some of the money you had invested and at the same time protect the environment.

"NEC ReTrade" offers you a quick and easy way to sell your old projector. In a few steps your device is sold and the money will be transferred to you using your selected payment method.
"NEC ReTrade" has a simple pricing structure. We distinguish between only 4 categories:

  1. As new
  2. Used
  3. Partly defective
  4. Faulty
The shipping is completely free for you.

By giving your projector a second life or re-using the raw materials you can actively help to protect the environment.
Your old projector can be used in other countries: for example in educational institutions that can not afford new presentation technology.
Maybe you are contributing to a better education in poorer countries!

4. How do I know to which category my projector belongs?

Category 1 "As new":
The case of the projector is in very good condition (no scratches can be seen on the body), technically in perfect condition and the lamp has max. 500 hours. The remote control and original equipment are included.

Category 2 "Used:
The device works without error messages and there may be slight traces of usage (scratches). The lamp has max. 1000 hours.

Category 3 "Partly defective":

Category 4 "Faulty":
One of the following applies:

5. What should I do if my projector is not working?

Projectors are faulty if one of the following points does occur:

If one of the above points apply, your projector will be classified as “faulty”.You will still receive a quote from us and we will recycle your device in an environmentally friendly way. However, if it is a device which we no longer buy, you can send it to us franked.

6. What should I do if i cannot find the remote control? Will my projector be classified as defective?

No! Don´t worry, we have remote controls for all brands and models, so we can easily test your projector once we have received it. Just classify your projector according to its condition: "As New", "Used", "With Defects", "Defect" and look forward to receiving your money.

7. What happens if I send another projector to "NEC ReTrade" without first selling it online?

During the sale process you will see the option of adding more projectors.
Please note that for technical reasons we cannot pay for devices that are not officially sold to us.

8. What happens if the projector I send to “NEC ReTrade” is not the exact model I indicated on the online form?

If this should occur, you will receive a confirmation email in which you will be informed of the difference and get an alternative price offer.

You can chose between the following three options:

  1. We will pay you the alternative amount using your selected payment method.
  2. If you do not like the alternative price, please notify us within five business days. We will then immediately return the projector at your expense.
  3. If you think there is a misunderstanding and the projector model is the one given by you during the online sale process, please inform us within five business days so we can check your device a second time.

To avoid confusion, please make sure you indicate the exact projector model during the online sale process. Often there are very small differences between projector models. In most cases you will find the exact model on a sticker on the bottom of the unit. Please also have a look at your manual or the original packaging in order to make sure you know the exact model.

9. How do I know if my sale to "NEC ReTrade" was successful?

You will receive three emails:

  1. A confirmation e-mail after your data has been entered into our system. Please save this e-mail, as it contains your sales ID, with which you and we can keep track of your selling process. Your sales ID is printed on the package label, which we will also send with this email. Please print the shipping label and attach it to the package.
  2. A confirmation of receipt once your projector has arrived at "NEC ReTrade".
  3. A confirmation note as soon as we have checked your device and transferred the money via the selected payment method.

10. Is there a maximum number of projectors I can sell?

We accept as many projectors as you want to send us. However, the maximum number of units per package is five. If you want to sell more units, we will send you more shipping labels via email. We will be also happy to offer you an individual quote for larger numbers of items. Of course we also accept equipment from businesses and public institutions such as schools, universities and theaters. In this case, we are happy to offer special conditions for organizing a complete technology rollout. Please contact us through order@nec-retrade.com.

11. When and how do I receive my money?

On the online sales form you can choose between the following payment methods:

Payment will be made within 7 days after you have received the confirmation of receipt of your device. Please note that the payment might take several days to complete depending on the payment method and the banks involved. Please note that all payments are made by ReBeam GmbH.

12. Why does my money not arrive?

The incoming projectors are processed daily in order to allow rapid payment. The shipping with UPS arrives usually at fixed transport times. In rare cases, there might be a delay at our office when the number of shipments is unusually high. We try to fix these delays as soon as possible.

13. Are the purchase prices on the site negotiable?

The prices we offer are very competitive. Our team observes the second hand market on a daily basis to ensure we can give you the best possible deal. However, if you want to sell larger numbers of projectors, we're happy to offer you a package deal. Please contact us through order@nec-retrade.com.

14. Do you purchase stolen projectors?

Of course we do not buy any stolen projectors! We enter the serial numbers of all projectors into our database. This allows us to check if the device has been reported as stolen or not. We do not accept any devices that do not have a serial number.

15. How do I send my device to "NEC ReTrade"?

After completing the online form on www.nec-retrade.com we will send you an email that includes a UPS package label. Please print it and attach it to the package with the projector you are selling. UPS will pick up the package on the date you determined.

Please make sure that you use enough padding material for a save shipment of the projector.

16. Who pays for shipping?

We pay your shipping fee. The shipment with UPS is therefore free of any cost for you.You just have to be at home on the selected date and time.

17. How do I get the the package label if I do not have a printer?

Please notify us by e-mail (order@nec-retrade.com) if you are unable to print the packing label. There is the possibility of sending you the label via mail.

18. How do I pack my projector?

Calculate the double size of your projector for a suitable cardboard box (max. 23.6x23.6x47.24 inches). The perfect way to send your projector is of course the original packaging. Make sure that the projector is well padded in the center of the box. The device must not be able to move within the package. As padding material you can use styrofoam, polystyrene chips, bubble wrap or cardboard. Please keep the environment in mind: employ used or recycable padding materials. Generally speaking: the more padding you use, the safer the shipment will be.

19. What accessories do I need to enclose?

Ideally, you send us the complete original accessories and cables, but at least the remote control (if available). If your device is dismantled and given a second life, it´s best if we can pass on the accessories.

20. How many projectors can I send in one package?

Since the projectors need a certain amount of padding, it is difficult to send more than five small (less than 11 pounds) projectors in one package. If the devices are bigger or heavier, please send them individually.
If you want to send more than five projectors, please contact us by e-mail (order@nec-retrade.com). We will find a simple way to get the projectors safely to us.
Your equipment is insured up to the amount of the "NEC ReTrade" purchase price. We do not pay for additional shipping costs.

21. How long does it take until my projector has arrived at "NEC ReTrade"?

The free shipping will be handled by UPS. We try to process all incoming projectors till the next business day.
You will receive a confirmation email once your projector has arrived. Occasionally this confirmation email ends up in the spam folder, so please check for it there.

22. How does "NEC ReTrade" know that the package is from me?

The shipping label we will send you carries your sale-ID. When processing your shipment, we look at that code and can assign the package to you.

23. In which countries does "NEC ReTrade" operate?

Currently "NEC ReTrade" is available in the following countries:

Germany / Austria / Netherlands / Belgium / Luxembourg / France / UK / Ireland / Poland / Denmark / Sweden / Finland

24. How can I tell the brand and model of my projector?

Usually brand and model can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the unit. Alternatively, you can find the brand and model of your projector in the purchase documents or on the manual.

25. Why is my projector not on the list?

Our range includes over 6000 projector models. If your projector should not be on our list, it can be for the following reasons:

  1. You own a brand new model, which still needs to be placed on the list. If you know that your model is very new and you do not find on our list, please send us an e-mail to info@nec-retrade.com, in which you specify the brand, model and condition of your device. You will receive a purchase offer from us via e-mail or we will notify you when the device has been added to our database.
  2. The projector is an outdated model which can not be re-used. We recycle old projectors on a professional basis and at our own expense. Please send us an e-mail to info@nec-retrade.com containing the following data about your projector: brand, model, condition. Even though we cannot buy your projector, you can still do some good. Contact us, then send in your projector for free and we will recycle it in an environmentally friendly way.

26. Does a defective or damaged projector also have a value?

Yes! We pay at least € 7 for defective projectors, no matter what condition it is in. Your projector only needs to be complete and "in one piece".
